This year Chipping Norton Cricket Club have joine Natwest CricketForce Weekend. This event will take place on Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April.
NatWest CricketForce is an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) annual volunteering initiative aimed at rejuvenating the nation’s cricketing facilities. It is anticipated that it will once again be the biggest annual volunteering event in sport. In 2011 over 85,000 volunteers helped over 1,914 Community Cricket Clubs make a difference to their facilities and cricket.
Chipping Norton & District Cricket Club are looking to renew the pavillion in order to improve the facilities that are offered. These facilities are used by every member of the club and are also open to the wider community of Chipping Norton.
In order to make this event a stunning success, the club are looking for financial support from local businesses, whether this is through sponsorship or by other means, such as materials that can be used to freshen up the pavillion.
The weekend can only be a success if we have enough volunteers to help do all the jobs that are needed to improve the facilities. This is not only open to members of the club, but support and help from the local community will be much appreciated.
We will have someone in charge of bacon butties and tea and coffee, and if you have young children, then while you are working hard, we can keep them entertained with some fun cricket games. If you are able to assist the club in any way with this project then please contact Ian Widdows 07795 100952.
